MIXED BERRY CRUMBL

MIXED BERRY CRUMBL

Ingredients
  • 6 cups mixed berries (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and hulled/chopped strawberries)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, chilled
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine berries, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Add cornstarch and toss to coat berries. Transfer to a baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until distributed.
  3. Cut in the butter and using hands, rub the butter into the flour mixture until large crumbs form. Stir in walnuts.
  4. Sprinkle mixture over top of berries to completely cover.
  5. Bake in a 375 F oven for about 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven and let stand for about 5 minutes. Serve warm. Top with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
Recipe Notes
If the crumble feels too dry or floury, add another 1 tablespoon of butter.
